My hair dresser told me to put olive oil on my hair once a week 2 hrs before using shampoo?

is that a good idea ?

have you ever done that?

should the oil be heated ?or in a room Temperature?

what does it do?';

ps: I couldn't talk to my hair dresser much we were both in a hurry and I don't have her number , and I need your opinion guys!My hair dresser told me to put olive oil on my hair once a week 2 hrs before using shampoo?
Heat the oil in a microwave for a few seconds, it needs to be warm but not so hot that you burn your hair or scalp. You don't need much, just a couple of spoonfuls, but make sure work it through the hair and over the scalp.

While it's still warm and on your head, wrap something around your head like tin foil to keep the oil warm, then wrap your head with a towel.

When you go to wash it, rinse out as much of the oil as you can first, then apply the shampoo and let this sit in the hair for a few minutes.

Your hair should be nice and glossy afterwards. My hair dresser told me to put olive oil on my hair once a week 2 hrs before using shampoo?
olive oil make thehair soft, strong and manageable.

follow these steps

# Warm about 2 tsps. of olive oil. Test the oil's temperature before applying it to your scalp; the oil should be warm to the touch, but not scalding. Warm oil penetrates more deeply into the hair shaft to repair the damaged cuticles that cause dryness, frizziness and breakage.

# Massage the oil into your hair, beginning with your scalp and working your way to the ends of your hair. Be gentle with your hair; rough treatment causes breakages that can increase frizz and flyaways.

# Wrap your hair in a warm towel and let the oil saturate your hair for up to 30 minutes. Sitting in a steamy bath can increase the oil's penetration of the hair shaft (resulting in deeper conditioning) and can also prevent messy oil spills around the house.

# Wash your hair with a mild shampoo at the conclusion of this treatment and rinse your hair thoroughly. As you rinse, use cool water, which seals the hair shaft, locking in shine and preventing damaged ends.
Yes, olive oil is very good for hair. Your hairdresser was right. I have done this before, just make sure you shampoo and condition(preferably a nicely scented shampoo and conditioner) properly to get the scent out. The oil does not need to be heated to work, but you could try warming it. It gets your hair soft and silky and strengthens it. :)
yeah it makes a great deep conditioner.

olive oil naturally has a lot of moisturizing properties.

the should be room temperature.

massage a few table spoons of olive oil into your hair, use enough to coat your hair.

cover with a shower cap.

leave it on for at least an hour, you can even leave it in over night.

shampoo it until it feels clean.

no need to condition
always listen to your hairdresser %26lt;-- good advice right there lol

olive oil is very good for your hair its good for your split ends, and it heals your weak hair to make it stronger. dont believe me?? ask miranda cosgrove she uses it for her hair too =]
Yes it does your hair good it should be heated but not to hot or it will burn
