Am i supposed to leave the olive oil in my hair after i shampoo or do i put it in first then wash it out?

i know olive oil is supposed to help with dry hair but how am i supposed to do it?Am i supposed to leave the olive oil in my hair after i shampoo or do i put it in first then wash it out?

Shampoo your hair first...towel dry it and then apply the olive oil and let it sit for 5-10 mins. Then rinse.
